Menstrual hygiene

is a human right –

We can change the cycle.

What is period poverty?

Let’s start with a simple truth: Half of the world’s population menstruate. This means period products, just like toilet paper, medicine, and other health and hygiene necessities, are essential to the overall well-being of those who need them. But in most of the United States–including Mississippi–period products are taxed as a “luxury good”. This, coupled with Mississippi’s increasing poverty level (19.4%), means that 2 out of 5 women struggle to afford these basic hygiene necessities. This is period poverty.
